Hello there dear travelers! After more than 2 months without writing anything, I’m back. Today, I woke up like this: with a great desire to write about this magnificent Spanish city… the one and only Barcelona. So happy to finally getting back my inspiration. Hurray for that! Moving forward, this 4-day trip was actually my birthday present, I have visited this city at the end of July, 2018. Yeah, long time ago. I hope you all miss the summer vibes! Because I certainly do! Let me take you there.

Istanbul – the city between two continents
Ohhh Istanbul! You either love it, or hate it! Or one day you love it, the next day you hate it and then you love it again. Just like a roller-coaster ride haha. Istanbul is an enormous city and when I say enormous, trust me, it is extraordinarily wide. I stayed for 7 nights and still didn’t have time to actually explore this city at its fullest. I guess not even half! And you know how I travel… wake up early in the morning and come back to the accommodation at midnight after walking all day, so I really did my best. Also, Istanbul is the only city in the world that is located on two continents. Now you are in Europe and after you cross a bridge, you are in Asia. How cool is that? In this case, you can imagine the mix of cultures in this city. Amazing vibe! But please, let me tell you more…
Strasbourg – mon amour
Strasbourg Strasbourg… Ohhh la la… what a city! Didn’t know what to expect from it but I was truly mesmerized. So glad we visited it and if you ever get the chance to be somewhere in Alsace, France… do not miss it! Our main trip was in Colmar, however, being so close to Strasbourg, we included it as well in our itinerary. Such a great choice!
Chalkida – the city of mad waters
Hello hello! I’m back! Today I want to tell you about Chalkida which is a beautiful city by the sea near Athens, Greece. It is also called the “city of mad waters” so tag along and I’ll explain you why!
After we visited Athens for 3 days back in September, we were heading to Chalkida to spend one more relaxing week at the beach.
First of all, I am pretty sure you’ve never heard of this city until now because it really isn’t such a touristic place. You won’t even find a single magnet to buy as a souvenir, I can guarantee that :)) Also, the menus at the restaurants are mostly written in Greek. But that’s ok, because this way you get to feel the true authenticity of Greece.
Athens – my kind of a city
Hi guys! We just came back from a 10 days trip to Greece YAAAY. We’ve spent 3 days in Athens and 7 more days in Chalkida. However, this blog post is solely about Athens and I have to warn you… lots of pictures will be shown in here.
Ok, so… what about Athens? Oh well, for me, Athens is just perfect. I really mean it. It’s our 5th time visiting the city. A little bit awkward right? Why visiting this city so many times? Because we love everything about it! It’s a city we could visit again and again. In fact, we could even see ourselves living here. We like it that much!
Sicily Tour – 5 destinations in 6 days
Sicily! Ohhh Sicily! This was certainly one of our best trips. We stayed 6 days and we were a total of 6 friends looking forward to have lots of fun and explore as much as we could. Which we totally did!
Just to have a first impression, our tour included the following locations: Castellammare del Golfo, Mondello, Palermo, Cefalù and San Vito lo Capo.
Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea located in Europe. It is an autonomous Region of Italy, along with surrounding minor islands, officially referred to as Regione Siciliana. The total area of the island is 25,711 km2 while the Autonomous Region of Sicily (which includes smaller surrounding islands) has an area of 27,708 km2.
Budapest – surprisingly beautiful
Hello Budapest! I have to tell you this: with stunning architecture, refreshing thermal baths, and a culture that can be unique, Hungary’s capital lives up to its reputation.
Budapest is one of those cities that constantly ranks in various Top 10 lists, however it’s still hardly visited by many travelers. And that’s a bummer…
The Hungarian capital is really two cities – Buda and Pest – separated by the wide tract of the Danube, and only officially became one entity towards the end of the 19th century.
London – the one and only
Dear London, you were almost perfect! Why “almost”? Because of your crappy weather, of course. However, we did have an amazing time and we are looking forward to see you again!
So yeah, I have to admit that London wasn’t on our bucket-list and that’s only because we love the sun… more than… the rain :))
Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay in London, which is enormous by the way and our 3 days spent there weren’t enough to see all the places that husband and I wanted to visit. I think you’ll probably need at least 1 week or so to see this amazing city at its best.
Bellagio & Varenna – the pearls of Lake Como
Hey guys! Back as I promised! Our last trip was in Milan and on DAY 2 we wanted to see the beauty of Lake Como. There are so many wonderful small villages by the lake, but the most picturesque and most popular is by far Bellagio. This is also why George Clooney, Sting, Woody Allen, Donatella Versace, Madonna, Sylvester Stallone and Ronaldinho own their villas in this tranquil paradise.
Lake Como is a lake of glacial origin located in the region of Lombardia. It’s the third largest lake in Italy and also one of the deepest lakes in Europe at over 400 meters deep. It’s shaped as an upside-down “Y” where the two arms are surrounded by the pre-Alps. Already a popular destination for aristocrats since Roman times, in the last twenty years it has become a very popular tourist destination.
Milan – more than a fashion capital
Hello travelers! Today I want to tell you about my very last trip that husband and I had in Milan, Italy’s fashion capital. But please don’t let its reputation for style distract you because underneath it all, Milan can be more than this! Although I have to be honest and tell you that we were quite reserved at the beginning and did not expect much when we decided to visit this city, but in the end, it really surprised us in a pleasant way!
When we started traveling on our own, we also started chasing the best deals, meaning also the cheapest ones, of course. For this trip we booked our Ryanair flight, from Bucharest to Milan, with only 5 Euros. I am not kidding. Only 5 Euros, it’s true. And for the return flight, we booked Wizzair with 10 Euros. So this means no more and no less than 15 Euros each. AWEEESOME!
